Let me introduce you to the gut microbiome, epigenetics and functional nutrition. ​

Hello and welcome. I am a registered dietitian with a PhD in Medicine. My special interest is in the principles of the gut microbiome, epigenetics and functional medicine for the management of your health, at what ever stage in life you are!

 

In recent years, my approach to dietetics has changed as I followed cutting-edge medical research concerning the living ecosystem within us. You may have heard of the gut microbiome, which is the extraordinary foundation of all health.

The Food as Medicine Approach


I seek to guide people with strategies for successful aging.  My advice will not only include information but offer practical suggestions to guide you to eat for the microbiome, reduce the damage of ultra-processed food, choose available herbs and spices that are a part of the food as medicine approach.

Since I began positioning the gut microbiome at the forefront of my diet recommendations, I have witnessed sustained and positive outcomes. This approach is, without a doubt, the most satisfying work I have experienced in my long career. These outstanding results have been equally important for patients of mine who have diabetes, digestive issues, and more.  My advice is evidence-based so you can rely on it.

Functional Medicine

However, besides nutrition, there are other factors at work that influence your wellbeing.

​

The focus within the functional medicine model is to work toward a health rebalancing and this can best be achieved by addressing elements that you can change, or are modifiable. In addition to nutrition, my approach may include one or more of five elements that work in concert with one another.

As a healthcare professional who has provided conventional diet advice for over 30 years, this breakthrough in health science has inspired my personal food philosophy and my professional approach to your health.
